Our Pastor


Taylor Burgoyne is the Senior Pastor at Eastside Covenant Church, he has been serving here since August 2015.

Taylor grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from Seattle Pacific University with his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Policy and Law; in addition to his degree he also studied Christian Scriptures and Biblical Hebrew. Taylor is a graduate of North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago where he earned his  Masters of Divinity as well as his Masters Certificate in Congregational Vitality. Taylor is a lifelong Covenanter (our denomination) and is passionate about Biblical studies and social justice.

Taylor enjoys several hobbies including: rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, photography, competitive bacon eating, and bad jokes. In the past, Taylor has worked at a Covenant retirement community were he developed a deep love for working with elderly folks. He completed his chaplaincy requirement for his degree at the University of Washington Medical Center where he was the primary chaplain for the inpatient psychiatric unit, which also stirred in him a deep compassion for those who suffer from mental illnesses. While in college Taylor spent a great deal of time volunteering with various ministries in the Seattle area, primarily those that serve homeless and street involved youth. Taylor also frequently travels to Israel/Palestine where he participates in peace building efforts. He as also worked on a  documentary film centered around the subject of peace and reconciliation in the Holy Land.

Taylor continues to be active in immigration reform efforts both through our denomination and through ecumenical groups.

Taylor and his wife Rachel met in seminary, Rachel also has her Masters of Divinity as well as her Masters of Non-Profit Administration. Rachel works in the non-profit sector here in Tucson.
