Lent is a 40 day season (six weeks) that we observe every year as a lead up to Holy Week and Easter. It is a traditional season observed by Christians for thousands of years as a way to prepare ourselves for the joy of the resurrection. During the season of Lent, we pay special attention to the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels. Typically the Lenten season is marked by prayer, self-reflection and by fasting. You’re invited to use this season as an opportunity to take stock of your relationship with Jesus, to take time for self-assessment and prayer. Fasting can be a deeply meaningful spiritual practice, if you choose to give something up this year for Lent make sure that you replace it with something that draws your nearer to God, simply going without is never the purpose of fasting. The hope and purpose of Lent is to allow for an annual reset for areas of our discipleship where we have grown out of sync with the ways of Jesus.

You’re invited to join us for worship on Sundays at 10:30 am.
