SWAT - Servants With A Trade

SWAT is an outreach ministry of ECC serving single mothers with children at home. ECC understands the challenges single mothers face each and everyday. Just tending to the needs of their children can be tough enough; however, the burdens of keeping up on home repairs, yard work, and other minor maintenance can be overwhelming. ECC wants to bless single mothers by helping them with home and yard work that they are not able to do on their own. The work ranges from minor home repairs, small paint jobs, lawn work, and moving and relocating furniture or other items around their property.

On a designated Saturday, a group of willing, able-bodied workers gather at ECC at 8:30am to receive their SWAT assignments, pray that God allows them to be a blessing to the single moms they are serving and then heads out to work. The team members work from 9:00am until Noon. After they complete their individual assignments, they pray with the mother and her children and ask for God's blessing on the family.

Single moms are encouraged to call to request the services of the SWAT team.

Single moms or members of the SWAT team DO NOT need to be members of ECC. If you know of any single mother in need of work around their home or yard; or if you would like to lend your skills to this worthwhile mission, please call Oscar Rayo at (520) 304-9169. You can also call the Eastside Covenant Church office at (520) 885-3192.
